Mansell showed promise at the beginning of his career but struggled to keep up with the competition, in those early years of the 1980s while he was racing for Lotus, and it wasn't until he started racing for Williams that Nigel Mansell began to come into his own. By the racing season in 1986, Mansell became a contender behind the wheel of his FW11, taking first in the Brands Hatch GP circuit and set him on pace to become one of the most succesful Formula One drivers of all time.
