Little Red & Big Bad is an Instant Puppet Show contained in book form, like a miniature puppet theater. The story is a re-imagining of the classic Little Red Riding Hood folktale, with a healthy food message. *Its perfect for a 10-minute story time. *It can be read/performed by an adult as a story time for children, or children can perform it for themselves *Intended audience ages 3-8 *The book has an A-frame stand-alone easel, making its own small puppet stage. *Each page is a backdrop for the action (five scenes in all). *The puppets are heavy laminated cardstock held from above by the storyteller. *One reader/puppeteer can easily perform the show, but two or more could participate if you wanted to made it a group production. There are six characters total. *The directions are super easy: ENTER GRANNY or WOLF PEEKS AROUND PAGE. *The script is easy, clever, and just plain fun. *The wolf is NOT scary. No one gets eaten. No violence, only a silly chase scene. The narration (script) pages face the reader while the scene pages face the audience. You (the reader) may hold the book on your lap or on a table next to you. You dont need a lot of practice, or need to be a great puppeteer to share the story. The show is performance-ready, nothing to cut out or assemble. Children ages 3-8 will enjoy watching the show. Teachers or librarians could perform the play for story times. The children themselves will love to perform it as well.
